As some may be aware, a new fanaticism regarding SPICES has arrived wherein those promoting it are claiming Ellen White agrees with it when in fact there is nothing in all her writings supporting such claims. The "pledge" they claim backs their message, wherein they actually claim came from Ellen White's pen has been confirmed to be untrue in a detailed study located here.
ALSO NOTE the following Biblical facts regarding SPICES.
What do you classify “cumin” as? A spice?
Look at Matthew 23:23 then cross reference to Luke 11:42 (herbs/“spices”). And go to Gen 1:29
Now see Romans 14:13-23 when it comes to fanaticism of food...
NOTE:
Some exSDR members that have never been ordained of God are now claiming those that are ordained of God to be in error by using twisted and fabricated EGW writings regarding SPICES. This is regardless of the fact that for over a year the leaders in the SDR movement did all they could to help them see their error. Pray for them as this is proof there is sin in their camp causing them to be blind to their fanaticims. (See this study to confirm) As the Lord has done before He is about to do again and their sin will soon be revealed to all. That being said, how dangerous is it to join with people that attack God's ordained ministers?
"Christ and His church are inseparable. To neglect or despise those whom God has appointed to lead out and to bear the responsibilities connected with His work and with the advancement and spread of the truth is to reject the means which God has ordained for the help, encouragement, and strength of His people. To pass these by and think your light must come through no other channel than directly from God places you in a position where you are liable to deception and to be overthrown." {3T 418.4}
"It is hardly possible for men to offer a greater insult to God than to despise and reject the instrumentalities that He has appointed to lead them." {3T 355.2}
"The people should not regard their ministers as mere public speakers and orators, but as Christ's ambassadors, receiving their wisdom and power from the great Head of the church. To slight and disregard the word spoken by Christ's representative is not only showing disrespect to the man, but also to the Master who has sent him. He is in Christ's stead; and the voice of the Saviour should be heard in His representative." {4T 393.2}
Because there are no Scriptures to prove "spices" to be bad, some choose to twist Sister White writings. Here's documented proof some poor souls have chosen to lie about what Sister White said on their spices theology:
1. “The diet reform should be progressive.” MH 320 (1905)ALSO
NOTICE:
Some
claim Sister White said ginger and cayenne are never to be consumed, yet she
never said this:
“I had an ill turn that night. The wind came up while we were searching for a place to rest. I think I took cold. I was in such severe pain I called for cayenne pepper and obtained some relief, but the same kind of a cold I had when at San Diego was upon me.” 20LtMs, Lt353, 1905, par. 3, August 27, 1905
"We have just finished breakfast. It is now five minutes past eight o'clock. We are about ten miles from Laramie. We shall not be able to make way with our provisions. Sara bought a bottle of milk and some warm water this morning. I put ginger in it and it went well."--Letter 22, 1883, pp. 1-3. (To W. C. and Mary White.)
“The question whether we shall eat butter, meat, or cheese is not to be presented to anyone as a test, but we are to educate and to show the evils of the things that are objectionable. Those who gather up these things and drive them upon others do not know what work they are doing. The Word of God has given tests to His people. The keeping of God’s holy law, the Sabbath, is a test, a sign between God and His people throughout their generations forever. Forever this is the burden of the third angel’s message—the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.” 3LtMs, Ms 5, 1881, par. 15 (3SM 287)THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED OFTEN
