PREPARATIONS FOR CONSECRATION OF THIRD MILLENNIUM TO IMMACULATE HEART ADVANCE

Rome, 26 (NE) Faithful from different parts of the world are preparing themselves to participate in one of the most significant pilgrimages of the Great Jubilee, leading to the Consecration of the Third Millennium to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

According to the official program of the Jubilee year celebrations, a solemn act of Consecration of the Third Millennium to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is scheduled to take place on October 8. Pope John Paul II will preside the act, in company of Bishops from all over the world present in Rome for the Jubilee of Bishops. As it has been informed, the image of the Virgin of Fatima will be specially taken to the Eternal City for this occasion.

In view of this important event, an Italian association has begun a pilgrimage, inviting movements throughout the world which promote "Pilgrim Virgins" -images of Blessed Mary which pilgrim from house to house or from city to city- to renew their own consecration to Jesus through His Mother. The initiative aims as well to encourage faithful to offer prayers for the Holy Father, "so that the greatest number of hearts may unite to the Holy Father during this act".
