(part 2)"
- Revelation 14:13 “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me,
Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith
the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow
them.”
- “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel,
or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which
enter in may see the light.” Matthew 8:16.
- “And cast ye the
unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing
of teeth.” Matthew 25:30.
- “Jesting, joking, and worldly conversation belong to the world.
Christians who have the peace of God in their hearts, will be cheerful and
happy without indulging in lightness or frivolity.” Gospel Workers 1892 pg.
250.
- Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the
works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which
I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do
such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
- Matthew 5:28 “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a
woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
- “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what
fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath
light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians
6:14.
- Matthew 22:21 “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are
Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.”
- Revelation 2:4-5 “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee,
because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art
fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee
quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”
- “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is
wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Job 28:28.
- In heaven
there is perfect order, perfect obedience, perfect peace and harmony. Those who
have had no respect for order or discipline in this life, would have no respect
for the order which is observed in heaven. They can never be admitted into
heaven, for all worthy of an entrance there will love order and respect
discipline. The characters formed in this, will determine the future life. When
Christ shall come, he will not change the character of any individual.
Precious, probationary time is given to be improved in washing our robes of
character, and making them white in the blood of the Lamb. {Christian Education p.237 par.3}
- Jeremiah 10:14 “Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every
founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood,
and there is no breath in them.”
- “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and
where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there
will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21.
- Malachi 4:1 “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an
oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and
the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall
leave them neither root nor branch.”
- 2 Chronicles 33:6 “And he caused his children to pass through the
fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used
enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with
wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to
anger.”
