SERMON TEXT:
- Malachi
1:9,10 And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this
hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.
(10) Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither
do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith
the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
- Romans 1:22-27 Professing
themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory
of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to
birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God
also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to
dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the
truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the
Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave
them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use
into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men,
leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men
with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that
recompence of their error which was meet.
- Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of
his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
- John 17:11 And now I am no more
in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to
thee. Holy Father,
keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me,
that they may be one, as we are.
- Luke
17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are
commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was
our duty to do.
- 1
Corinthians 2:14, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit
of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because
they are spiritually discerned.”
- John
15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because
ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the
world hateth you.
- Romans 8:34-39, “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather,
that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh
intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we
are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him
that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to
come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be
able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- 1 Peter 5:1-11 The elders which are
among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of
Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by
constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples
to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall
receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 5 Likewise, ye
younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to
another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth
grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty
hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your
care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking
whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing
that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the
world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his
eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you
perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and
dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
