Psalms 11:4, "The
LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold,
his eyelids try, the children of men." |

“The greatness of God is
to us incomprehensible. "The Lord's throne is in heaven" (Psalm
11:4); yet by His Spirit He is everywhere present. He has an intimate knowledge
of, and a personal interest in, all the works of His hand. {Ed 132.} |

“Man cannot by searching
find out God. Let none seek with presumptuous hand to lift the veil that conceals
His glory. "Unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding
out." Romans 11:33. It is a proof of His mercy that there is the hiding of
His power; for to lift the veil that conceals the divine presence is death. No
mortal mind can penetrate the secrecy in which the Mighty One dwells and works.
Only that which He sees fit to reveal can we comprehend of Him. Reason must
acknowledge an authority superior to itself. Heart and intellect must bow to
the great I AM. {Ministry of Healing

Isaiah
66:1-2, "Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my
footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of
my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have
been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and
of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word." |

It was not enough for
the disciples of Jesus to be instructed as to the nature of His kingdom. What
they needed was a change of heart that would bring them into harmony with its
principles. Calling a little child to Him, Jesus set him in the midst of them;
then tenderly folding the little one in His arms He said, "Except ye be
converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom
of heaven." The simplicity, the self-forgetfulness, and the confiding love
of a little child are the attributes that Heaven values. These are the
characteristics of real greatness. {DA

God has most graciously granted us a
probation in which to prepare for the test which will be brought upon us. Every
advantage is given us through the mediation of Christ. If the human agent will
study the word, he will see that every facility has been freely provided for
those who are seeking to be overcomers. The Holy Spirit is present to give
strength for victory, and Christ has promised, "Lo, I am with you alway,
even unto the end of the world."--"Special Testimonies on
Education," 1896. {FE 452.1} |

Come now,
and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be
as wool. Isa. 1:18. {SD 112.1} |

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. |

And in
their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of
God. Rev. 14:5. {SD 348.1} Sin is a hateful thing. It marred the
moral beauty of a large number of the angels. It entered our world, and
well-nigh obliterated the moral image of God in man. But in His great love God
provided a way whereby man might regain the position from which he fell in
yielding to the tempter. Christ came to stand at the head of humanity, to work
out in our behalf a perfect character. . . . "As many as received him, to
them gave he power to become the sons of God." . . . {SD 348.2} What does the Lord require of His
blood-bought heritage?--The sanctification of the whole being,--purity like the
purity of Christ, perfect conformity to the will of God. . . . Into the holy
city there can enter nothing that defileth, or maketh a lie. . . . {SD 348.3} We can reveal the likeness of our divine
Lord. We can know the science of spiritual life. We can honor our Maker. . .
. {SD 348.4} Higher than the highest human thought can
reach is God's ideal for His children. He wants our minds to be clear, our
tempers sweet, our love unbounding. Then the peace that passeth knowledge will
flow from us to bless all with whom we come in contact. The atmosphere
surrounding our souls will be refreshing. . . .
{SD 348.5} Many are holding onto the truth with but
the tips of their fingers. The precious time that should be spent in speaking
of the Saviour's power to save, is being spent by many in carrying evil
reports. Unless they make a decided change, they will be found wanting. Unless
they have an entire transformation of character, they will never enter heaven.
. . . The truly converted man has no inclination to think or talk of the faults
of others. His lips are sanctified, and as God's witness he testifies that the
grace of Christ has transformed his heart. . . . Those only will enter heaven
who have overcome the temptation to think and speak evil. {SD 348.6} |

Romans
10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of
God." |
12 |
Those only
who through faith in Christ obey all of God's commandments will reach
the condition of sinlessness in which Adam lived before his transgression. They
testify to their love of Christ by obeying all His precepts (MS 122,
1901). {6BC 1118.10} |

Matthew
18:3-4, "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and
become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as
this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." |
14 |
"--The
soul of the little child that believes in Christ is as precious in His sight as
are the angels about His throne. They are to be brought to Christ and trained
for Christ. They are to be guided in the path of obedience, not indulged in
appetite or vanity. {AH 279.3} If we would but learn the wonderful
lessons which Jesus sought to teach His disciples from a little child, how many
things that now seem insurmountable difficulties would wholly disappear! When
the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom
of heaven? . . . Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst
of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as
little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever
therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in
the kingdom of heaven." {AH 279.4} |

If we
constantly cherish the love of Christ, we shall have the love that cannot be
repressed. We shall love the atmosphere of light and love and truth and
righteousness. We shall be constantly inquiring after truth, and, knowing that
there is such a wealth of precious ore of truth to be found, we shall not grasp
for thorns and thistles. Humbly and sincerely we shall search after divine
knowledge, realizing that all we can carry with us to heaven is that which is
akin to heaven. We shall know that it is very poor policy to be cultivating
ourselves in the art of seeing everything that is objectionable, for all the knowledge of God
that we can here obtain we shall carry with us to heaven. We can safely
cultivate purity, love, and devotion to God and our Redeemer. The love of God
must be planted in the heart in this life, and it will enable us to have happiness,
and joy, and peace, because the kingdom of heaven will be set up in our hearts.
Heaven is to begin on earth. The word of God will reveal to us whatsoever is
real and abiding, and these permanent excellences will find a place in our
hearts, so that we may now have within us the perfection of heaven. {ST, |
