"He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities." Ps.103:10. |

Satan had clothed the
Father in his own attributes, but Christ represented Him in His true character of
benevolence and love. In the character in which Christ presented Him to the
world it was as if He gave a new gift to man. . . . {LHU 36.4} The Son of God declared in positive terms
that the world was destitute of the knowledge of God; but this knowledge
was of the highest value, and it was His own peculiar gift, the inestimable
treasure which He brought into the world. In the exercise of His sovereign
prerogative He imparted to His disciples the knowledge of the character of God,
in order that they might communicate it to the world. . . . Everyone who
believes the message of God should lift up Jesus, point men to Christ, and say,
"Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." . .
. {LHU 36.5} The soul imbued with the love of Christ is
one with Him; he communes with Christ, Christ is formed within, the hope of
glory, and the Christian goes forth to represent the Father and the Son to the
world (Signs of the Times, June 27, 1892).

Psalm. 103:10,11 "He
hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our
iniquities.""For as the heaven is high above the earth, so
great is His mercy toward them that fear Him." |

Psalms 111:9, "He sent
redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name." |

Psalm 86:5, "For thou,
Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto
all them that call upon thee." |

Psalm. 32:5 "I
acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will
confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and Thou forgavest the iniquity
of my sin." |

Many have murmured at what
they called God's injustice in sparing David, whose guilt was so great, after
having rejected Saul for what appear to them to be far less flagrant sins. But David
humbled himself and confessed his sin, while Saul despised reproof and
hardened his heart in impenitence. {PP
726.2} This passage in David's history is full
of significance to the repenting sinner. It is one of the most forcible
illustrations given us of the struggles and temptations of humanity, and of
genuine repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Through all
the ages it has proved a source of encouragement to souls that, having fallen
into sin, were struggling under the burden of their guilt. {PP 726.3} |

Thousands of the children
of God, who have been betrayed into sin, when ready to give up to despair
have remembered how David's sincere repentance and confession were accepted
by God, notwithstanding he suffered for his transgression; and they also
have taken courage to repent and try again to walk in the way of God's
commandments. {PP 726.3} Whoever under the reproof of God will humble
the soul with confession and repentance, as did David, may be sure that there
is hope for him. Whoever will in faith accept God's promises, will find
pardon. The Lord will never cast away one truly repentant soul. He has
given this promise: "Let him take hold of My strength, that he may make
peace with Me; and he shall make peace with Me." Isaiah 27:5.
"Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and
let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God,
for He will abundantly pardon." Isaiah 55:7. {PP 726.4} |

1 John 1:9, "If we
confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness." |

Our sin has been expiated,
put away, cast into the depths of the sea. Through repentance and faith we are
rid of sin, and look unto the Lord our righteousness. Jesus suffered, the just
for the unjust. {1SM 392.3} |

Romans 5:8, "But God
commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us." Romans |

Had not Jacob previously
repented of his sin in obtaining the birthright by fraud, God could not
have heard his prayer and mercifully preserved his life. {PP 202.2} |

This is the testimony that
must go throughout the length and breadth of the world. It presents the law and
the gospel, binding up the two in a perfect whole. …"The entrance of Thy
words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple"--those who
are contrite in heart. "As many as received Him, to them gave He
power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His
name." These have not a mere
nominal faith, a theory of truth, a legal religion, but they believe to a
purpose, appropriating to themselves the richest gifts of God. They
plead for the gift, that they may give to others. They can say, "Of
His fullness have all we received, and grace for grace." {TM 94.1} |

The greatest praise that
men can bring to God is to become consecrated channels through whom He can
work. Time is rapidly passing into eternity. Let us not keep back from God that
which is His own. Let us not refuse Him that which, though it cannot be given
with merit, cannot be denied without ruin. He asks for a whole heart; give it
to Him; it is His, both by creation and by redemption. He asks for your
intellect; give it to Him; it is His. He asks for your money; give it to Him;
it is His. "Ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price." 1
Corinthians 6:19, 20. God requires the homage of a sanctified soul, which has
prepared itself, by the exercise of the faith that works by love, to serve Him.
He holds up before us the highest ideal, even perfection. He asks us to be
absolutely and completely for Him in this world as He is for us in the presence
of God. {AA 566.1} "This is the will of God"
concerning you, "even your sanctification." 1 Thessalonians 4:3. Is
it your will also? Your sins may be as mountains before you; but if you humble
your heart and confess your sins, trusting in the merits of a crucified and
risen Saviour, He will forgive and will cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
God demands of you entire conformity to His law. This law is the echo of His
voice saying to you, Holier, yes, holier still. Desire the fullness of the
grace of Christ. Let your heart be filled with an intense longing for His
righteousness, the work of which God's word declares is peace, and its effect
quietness and assurance {AA 566.2} As your soul yearns after God, you will
find more and still more of the unsearchable riches of His grace. As you
contemplate these riches you will come into possession of them and will reveal
the merits of the Saviour's sacrifice, the protection of His righteousness, the
fullness of His wisdom, and His power to present you before the Father
"without spot, and blameless." 2 Peter 3:14. {AA 567.1} |
