Sabbath, September 06, 2014  - "Sanctification part 3"

1

Ephesians 4:1-3, "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

2

Luke 18:8, "…when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"

3

Matthew 18:15-17, "Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.  But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican."

4

1 Peter 3:8 "love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous"

5

Ephesians 5:1-2, "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour."

6

Philippians 2:5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"

7

Romans 6:6, "..our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

Romans 6:7, "For he that is dead is freed from sin."

8

Matthew 5:48, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

9

Hebrews 4:15, "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."

10

Matthew 16:24, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."

11

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

12

Hebrews 12:2, “Jesus the author and finisher of our faith”

13

Luke 22:42, "Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."

Luke 22:43 says, "And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him."

Isaiah 52:14, "As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:"

14

Luke 22:44 that while "being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground."

16

Around the sweat glands, there are multiple blood vessels in a net-like form.” Under the pressure of great stress the vessels constrict. Then as the anxiety passes “the blood vessels dilate to the point of rupture. The blood goes into the sweat glands.” As the sweat glands are producing a lot of sweat, it pushes the blood to the surface - coming out as droplets of blood mixed with sweat.” -Dr. Frederick Zugibe, Chief Medical Examiner of Rockland County New York.

1 Corinthians 10:13, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

18

Matthew 20:22-23, "But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.  And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father."

I just want to encourage everyone of us to realize when we obey God, we’re not doing it for God – I mean, that’s one way to look at it – we’re doing it for ourselves, because God takes pleasure when we’re happy. So I want you to know this morning: Just do good for your own self. Do good because God wants you to be happy. When you come to church, when you worship Him, you’re not doing it for God really. You’re doing it for yourself, because that’s what makes God happy. Amen?” (See video here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Lva6Gt9s6c&list=UUpITe256E0HOmw-KqWYWDhw)

Revelation 3:14-17, "And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:"
